Complicated Minds
04:00
|
|||
To all you complicated minds
The gap isn’t so wide
My nerves are blind
Mute for a second: “what side?”
To all you special souls
I am special too
Astonished by the pools
Taking pictures for you
No one's throwing stones at my window
I’m surrounded by my shadow
I’m just a poor guy down on my knees
Begging you, so easy to please
Some of your ears
Might bleed in fear
It’s your inside stabbing
Therefore blame me for nothing
I'll never hear the words sounding right
Cause I’m sinking failure
They might catch me up some night
When I hit the ground
I’ve just hit the ground

Memories of the Attic
05:05
|
|||
I remember the room in the attic
And the view on the streets
The lights of the factory amazing our sleep
Like kids with wide eyes
Surprised by what we did not know
You were naked in the corridor
Surprised, laughing with my grand-mother
Blushing, sneaking into my parents’ bed
"Warm up my feet." They’re cold, I don’t care: today is special
Once upon a boy, he became a man
But still had loads to understand
Once upon a boy, he became a man
But still had loads to understand
Fireworks were cracking in the warm summer streets
Night had come time to slip out music covering the sounds of my feet
Don’t walk on the rug ‘cause we never know
If someone’s awake in the silent shadow

1989

|
|||
Looking down, nineteen eighty-nine
Was a kid with an empty pocket mind
Stripped shirts on my back
Making up the summer laws that made him ride my bike
I ain’t sleeping inside
I ain’t sleeping inside
The sounds of the playground
Now I’ve grown too old, they will never be found
The ears above four feet from the ground
Chewing on some gum, artificial smell when time was blond
I ain’t sleeping inside
I ain’t sleeping inside
I ain’t sleeping inside
I ain’t sleeping inside
Sleeping inside, sleeping inside…
Let me breath
Let me breath
Let me breath
Let me breath…

Venice, it was Nothing
03:36
|
|||
One day I woke up early, for my wedding
She was pregnant: what could I do? I offered her a ring
Her father was in the army: don’t mess with this Viking
But who cares? I was in love… until the next morning
“Travel around the world” they said
“For your honey moon”
Then I could only spell four words:
“Will this end soon?”
For glancing at a girl I got slapped in Tokyo
She ignored me until we got to Moscow
I was begging please in Tunisia and Morocco
And I thought the worst had past but compared to Venice it was nothing
On a hot and steamy night I woke up in the bed
I was alone: where could she be? I checked in the lobby
I must have opened the wrong door ‘cause I heard some sex noises
But suddenly: “horror!” My love was banging our host!
Compared to Venice it was nothing
Compared to Venice it was nothing

Mr Sleeping Bag Man
03:25
|
|||
Mister Sleeping Bag Man
I’ve got a sandwich and stew.
Why won’t you wake up
And smile at the meal I made for you.
I read you were begging out of hunger.
But my dad just puts you down
With a light laughter:
“Pop out a bottle of wine
Then he’ll wake up for sure”.
Mister Sleeping Bag Man
I’ll leave the food just here
So you can grab it
From your dreamy tipsy sleep
Nowadays, I remember when sometimes I think I’m in need and I'm begging
When all I need is sleep
When all I need is sleep

Nothing Changes
04:22
|
|||
When you look at the dog
More than the man
The coin you drop
In the old wrinkled hand
Nothing changes
Nothing changes
Everybody
Remains
Whoever you vote for
If one day you saved…
You might hold the door
For a prick with no name
Nothing changes
Nothing changes
Everybody
Remains the same
Nothing changes
Nothing changes
Everybody
Remains
And in the noise a silence is louder than the canon

So Far
05:30
|
|||
I’ll burn the flag
If I have to
I’ll sacrifice
If it’d change everything... at once
I’ll ruin my life
To blow it away
I’d give my heart
If not in vain… in vain
I’m losing my mind
Thinking about it
Unsatisfied
With what I’ve done… so far
So far, so far
I am nothing, I cannot trade my life for sins
Just awake, bloody alive, useless so far
No time to hide, hit and survive, I’m breaking loose
Just awake, bloody alive, useless so far
So far
I am nothing, I cannot trade my life for sins
Just awake, bloody alive, useless so far
No time to hide, hit and survive, I’m breaking loose
Just awake, bloody alive, useless so far
So far, so far, so far

Shoefiti Paris, France
What if Shoefiti was France's indie scene’s best kept secret?
Never quite garage, not completely
psychedelic or shoegaze, borrowing from noise without being totally so, Shoefiti is resolutely an indie rock band, sometimes pop and under control, sometimes abrasive and unbridled like a San Francisco ice cream truck whose brakes would have broken.
